Attendees of the ACU Residential School in Malaysia, 2017

In December 2017, the ACU partnered with Heriot-Watt University and Common Purpose to deliver a leadership programme for 30 students from member institutions on the theme of respect and understanding.

The ACU Residential School brought a diverse group of students from 20 Commonwealth countries together to explore practical measures to promote tolerance and better intercultural relations at their home institutions and beyond.

Delegates were nominated by their institutions and put forward in a competitive application process - they had to demonstrate an ability to lead (i.e. experience in a student society, students union, or community organisation), and possess the capacity to affect change on their return to their institutions.

Read our round-up of the event, and find out what some of the delegates came away with by clicking on the images below, or by visiting our blog.
