RKI Community Study Tour

Supporting research across the institution
Johannesburg, South Africa
14-16 May 2015

The ACU Research, Knowledge and Information (RKI) Community, which launches in May 2015, is inviting members to join a Study Tour in Johannesburg, South Africa. Delegates will visit the University of Pretoria, the University of Johannesburg, and the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg before coming together to discuss the conclusions from the visits and form future action plans.

The tour will investigate how the three universities approach the work of supporting the research work of their academic colleagues. Taking in the research management offices and the university libraries, the tour will explore how staff within these departments go about their day to day work, how they interact with each other and how they interact with the university community in general, all in the name of aiding and advancing academic research efforts.

Bringing together colleagues from across Commonwealth universities to discuss how to best support the work of academic researchers, the ACU RKI Community will provide an avenue for discussion and debate to further the development of the supportive university professional. This study tour will provide ideal opportunity to start the conversation.
