Summary: Research Africa was a partnership programme designed to strengthen and deepen research capacity in African universities. The ACU worked with partners in developing this service, providing linkages and helping to share information between African and global research communities.

Membership to Research Africa includes access to the world's premier research funding opportunities database offered by the ResearchResearch publishing group, which specialises in worldwide reporting on science, technology and innovation. The Research Africa service also includes up-to-date research news, interviews, features, and commentary, available online and as a hard-copy monthly newspaper produced in Cape Town. For further information, download a sample archive issue of the newspaper (.pdf).

In 2008, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) agreed to support a number of institutional subscriptions to Research Africa at African universities, enabling even wider access to the service amongst African universities.

OutputsResearch Professional, the Research Africa online platform which provides information on how to access funding opportunities, how to register, and gives a wealth of research policy news.
