AAUN/ACU International Africa Forum II

Friday 4 - Sunday 6 April 2014
Conference Centre, University of Pretoria Hatfield Campus, South Africa

This is the second part of the International Africa Forum, hosted by the Australia Africa University Network and the ACU at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. The first such forum, themed around 'The Power of Partnerships', was held on 8-9 July 2013 at the University of Sydney, Australia.

The Forum will focus on the themes of food security, public health, education and public sector reform. The AAUN has already made significant progress in developing project proposals and securing project development funding for research in food security, public health and mining. The Forum will be an opportunity to further develop research collaboration between AAUN partners in food security and public health. At the same time, it will be the first opportunity to establish collaboration on the themes of education and public sector reform.

Researchers from Africa and Australia and other role players with an interest in development issues, particularly in the AAUN thematic areas that will be addressed during the Forum, are encouraged to attend. The timing of this Forum is particularly noteworthy as it coincides with the celebration of 20 years of democracy in South Africa.
