The University of Gibraltar is the latest institution to offer a Commonwealth Scholarship, which was launched at an event on Friday 7 April 2017 by the Chief Minister of Gibraltar, The Hon Fabian Picardo QC.

Speaking at the launch, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Daniella Tilbury spoke of the university's aspirations to contribute to building a knowledge economy, and described the new scholarship as a sign of Gibraltar's commitment to the Commonwealth.

Terri Jacques, Senior Scholarships and Fellowships Officer, said: 'We're very pleased that the University of Gibraltar is hosting a Commonwealth Scholarship. The ACU looks forward to developing its relationship with the institution further through this scholarship'.

The launch event also saw a Commonwealth of Learning debate take place, which featured a keynote speech from the ACU's former Secretary General, Professor John Wood.

Building upon the ACU's commitment to the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan, the Gibraltar Commonwealth Scholarship will provide fully-funded PhD study for an individual from another Commonwealth country or territory.
