After receiving over 90 applications from universities in 28 countries of the Commonwealth, we are pleased to announce the recipients of this year's round of ACU Gender Workshop Grants.

Awarded annually to universities from across our diverse membership as part of the ACU Gender Programme, these grants of up to GBP 1,000 help to meet the costs of organising workshops promoting gender equity in higher education.

This year's 10 Gender Workshop Grant recipients are:

• Covenant University, Nigeria: the Department of Political Science and International Relations will organise a week-long international event on Mainstreaming Gender in Higher Institutions of Learning: Implications for Growth and Development
  
  
• Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, Nigeria: the Department of Crop Production & Landscape Management will deliver a workshop on Gender Sensitivity in Knowledge Production, Knowledge Acquisition/Dissemination and University Management
  
  
• Eduardo Mondlane University, Mozambique: the Centre of Coordination for Gender Issues will organise a week-long workshop on Women in Science and Research
  
  
• Fatima Jinnah Women University, Pakistan: the Women Research and Resource Centre (WRRC) will be organising a week-long workshop on Women in Leadership & Management: Opportunities and Challenges
  
  
• Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Pakistan: the Appna Institute of Public Health will be looking at Integrating Gender in Higher Education Institutions
  
  
• Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalaym, India: the Department of Women Studies will be looking at the Role of Men and Boys in Gender Equality
  
  
• The IIS University, Jaipur, India will hold a national workshop to develop Leadership and Management Skills for Women in Higher Education
  
  
• University of Asia Pacific, Bangladesh: the Directorate of Students’ Affairs will have an introductory two-day workshop on Gender Issues
  
  
• University of Guyana: the Institute for Gender Studies will hold a two-day workshop titled Not on Our Campus, Not in Our Communities:  Stopping sexual and gender-based harassment and violence on campus and in the larger community
  
  
• University of Malta: the Department of Gender Studies will focus specifically on Gender Mainstreaming in University Curricula and Research in their two-day workshop
