ACU members shaping discussions at Going Global

Published on 01 May 2018

Opening today (2 May), Going Global 2018 – the British Council’s annual conference for leaders of international education – sees 84 ACU member universities from 14 Commonwealth countries attending to debate the future of higher education.

Taking place from 2-4 May 2018 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia, the conference will address timely questions around the theme of 'Global connections, local impact'.

University managers and education advisers will spend three days networking and exchanging ideas with government representatives, policymakers and journalists – all with the aim of connecting local, national, regional and global agendas.

ACU member universities, with their breadth of expertise and global outlook, will be instrumental in shaping discussions around creating 21st century skills, knowledge and impact for the good of society.

Our Secretary General and CEO, Dr Joanna Newman, will also be there to meet colleagues and represent the interests of member universities at two key sessions. On Wednesday she will chair a plenary session on ‘Bridging global collaboration and local engagement’, and on Thursday she will speak at a plenary session called ‘Global institutions - servants of too many masters?’.
