Expressions of Interest (EOI) are invited from colleagues at ACU member universities to take part in a scoping session at the University of Melbourne, from 8 to 10 October 2018, for a proposed Commonwealth Peace and Reconciliation Network.

Purpose 

The proposed network will be inter-disciplinary, exploring truth-telling and reconciliation throughout a range of Commonwealth contexts. The ACU acknowledges the colonial legacy of the Commonwealth and the importance of truth and reconciliation processes in addressing colonial legacies and realising the Commonwealth’s modern vision.

This is an opportunity for Commonwealth universities who work in the field of peace, truth, justice and reconciliation to collaborate on research, teaching and learning, student and staff exchanges. The aim is to connect and support researchers across the Commonwealth, facilitating collaborations and sharing approaches to truth-telling and reconciliation within universities themselves.

The purpose of the scoping session is to enable participants to further explore the suggested scope, thematic focus and characteristics of the network.

Participants should have strong delegated decision-making within their institution, as this will enable progress towards establishing the network. 

Expressions of interest

Universities from a range of contexts (including indigenous populations) in the Commonwealth are invited to express interest in participating in the proposed network. Click here for information on what your EOI should include.

The selection of participants will be decided by the ACU and the University of Melbourne. The selection will be on the basis of contribution to a network across academic activity (including university reform), and selecting for the diversity of the group.
