Prof Makanjuola to deliver ACU Perspectives talk

Published on 07 January 2013

Professor Roger Makanjuola will deliver the second talk in the ACU Perspectives speaker series on Monday 25 February 2013, 6.00 pm, at 76 Portland Place (home of The Institute of Physics), London, W1B 1NT.

Professor Makanjuola was Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria from 1999-2006, and is author of the book Water Must Flow Uphill, which will be available for purchase at the event. He will talk about the highlights of his career in leadership, and on Negotiating university politics through triumph and tragedy. This event is jointly hosted by the ACU and the Britain-Nigeria Educational Trust.

Under the broad theme of 'Change and opportunity in higher education', the ACU Perspectives speaker series offers ACU members a chance to contribute to debates and discussions on the future of higher education. This platform enables members to share their ideas and experiences, and to bring insights from their own region, institution or discipline.

Professor Makanjuola’s talk follows that of Professor Loyiso Nongxa, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of Witwatersrand, who delivered the inaugural ACU Perspectives talk in October 2012.

Although this forthcoming event is free, attendees are required to register via this link before Wednesday 20 February 2013.
