Deadline for International Africa Forum bursaries approaches

Published on 03 March 2014

The second instalment of the Australia Africa University Network (AAUN)/ACU International Africa Forum, will take place at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, on 4-6 April 2014.

The Forum will focus on the themes of food security, public health, education and public sector reform and serves as an opportunity to further develop research collaboration between AAUN partners in food security and public health. At the same time, it will be the first opportunity to establish collaboration on the themes of education and public sector reform.

To encourage participation in the AAUN International Africa Forum II, the ACU will be supporting the attendance costs of two postgraduate students or early career researchers from Africa. The bursaries of a maximum of £1,500 will enable delegates from AAUN/ACU member universities in Africa to attend the Forum.

To be eligible, the applicant must be currently working on their PhD or have completed his or her PhD in the last five years. The applicant must be a current student or researcher at an African AAUN member university and currently working on an AAUN member university project, or are planning to do so in the future.

More details including the conference programme, the bursary application form, and a list of African AAUN member universities, can be found on the International Africa Forum II page.

Applications close on Monday 10 March.
